Okra (Lady’s finger) Dry Gravy


Frozen/Fresh Okra(Lady’s finger)
Chopped Onions – 3 pc
Chopped tomato – 1 pc
Turmeric powder – a pinch
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala – 1 tsp
salt – for taste
Olive oil for frying
Defrost the frozen Okra. Cut defrosted/ fresh okra into small pieces and remove any moisture using paper towel or kitchen cloth. Fry the Okra pieces for 3-4 minutes in a deep pan with hot olive oil. After frying, place the fried okras in paper towel to remove excess oil. In another pan, sauté chopped onions. Add tomato, powdered spices and fried okra in the end. Season it with salt according to taste. Let it cook in low heat till done.
This dish is best served with plain boiled white rice and it makes a hearty vegetarian meal!!

  1. There’s something very comforting about okra curry. I love it in all its forms. Nothing is more welcome than simple bhindi fry with curd rice.
